Privacy policy
Short version: the site does not run accounts, does not sell email lists and does not place advertising trackers. What we do collect is anonymous traffic logging and a Google Analytics 4 stream for editorial decisions. Detail below.
1 · Who is the data controller
The data controller is the StableDesk editorial desk operating vsccex.com. Contact for any privacy request: [email protected]. The desk responds within thirty days under GDPR, forty-five days under CCPA / CPRA and forty days under Hong Kong PDPO.
2 · What we collect when you visit
Two streams of data are involved.
Server-side logging. The web server records request IP, request URL, HTTP referer, user agent, response code, response size and time. This is standard web-server logging and is used for security review, abuse handling and capacity planning. Logs are rotated and retained for thirty days.
Google Analytics 4 (GA4). The site loads a single GA4 measurement tag (configured with anonymize_ip). GA4 records anonymised IP, page path, browser, device class, country, session duration and event clicks (for example: clicks on the Binance referral link, language switcher, glossary searches). No user account, email, name or telephone number is collected. The retention window in our GA4 property is set to fourteen months; analytics older than that is deleted automatically.
3 · What we do not collect
- No name, email, phone, address or other identifier from passive readers.
- No payment data, no card information, no bank details. The site never asks for them.
- No third-party advertising trackers. The site does not load AdSense, Facebook Pixel, TikTok Pixel, Twitter conversion tags, programmatic ad networks or behavioural-ad pixels.
- No social plugins that fingerprint logged-in users.
4 · Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies set by the site:
_ga/_ga_*— Google Analytics 4 measurement (anonymous client identifier). Lifetime up to 13 months.- One optional language-preference key in
localStorage(records that you chose, for example, the English edition). Lifetime: until you clear browser data.
Nothing else. No marketing or advertising cookies. Browsers configured to refuse cookies can still read every article.
5 · When you email the desk
If you email [email protected] with a correction, a question or a press enquiry, we keep that message for as long as the conversation thread is active plus twelve months. The email address, subject and body content are retained in the editorial inbox; nothing is exported to third parties. Delete-on-request is honoured.
6 · External processors
The technical stack involves three processors:
- Google Ireland Ltd for Google Analytics 4 (anonymised analytics). Subject to Google's standard contractual clauses for EU/UK data transfers.
- Cloudflare Inc. for content delivery and basic DDoS protection on parts of the site. Cloudflare sees the same request metadata as the server.
- The VPS hosting provider for the editorial server (a standard EU- or HK-based provider). Logs are stored only on that server during the rotation window.
No reader data is transferred to advertising networks or data brokers.
7 · Your rights
Under GDPR / UK GDPR you may request: access to your data, correction, erasure, portability, restriction or objection to processing. Under CCPA / CPRA (California) you may request: the right to know, the right to delete, the right to correct, and the right to opt out of "sale" (we do not sell data, but the right exists). Under the Hong Kong PDPO you may request: access and correction.
To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected] from the address you want a record on, and we will respond within the statutory window for your jurisdiction.
8 · International transfers
Hosting, analytics and content-delivery processors may sit outside your country. EU/UK transfers are covered by standard contractual clauses with the processors above. No additional reader data is transferred for reasons other than serving the site and running analytics.
9 · Children
The site is written for adults. We do not knowingly collect any data from a person under 16 (or under the equivalent local age of digital consent). If you believe a minor has provided personal data through an email, contact us and we will delete it.
10 · Changes to this policy
Material updates are noted on the corrections page with the date and a short summary. The version of the policy you read is dated at the foot of this page.
